Its difficult when you dont have a connectorised 50ohm system to measure. You know… adding caps and baluns and such and see what really happens.

I know, I know, hardly anything for a VNA. Depends upon the frequency your looking at how bad it is. Using a scope probe with a VNA is a bit flacky.
